Ricky Martin denies nephew’s incest allegations through his lawyer

  • August 26, 2022

The lawyer of Ricky Martin has responded to allegations made by the 21-year-old nephew of the singer.

A judge in Puerto Rico issued a domestic violence-related restraining order against the pop star and it has been reported that this was because of incest allegations.

According to the alleged victim, Ricky Martin exercised physical and psychological attacks on him over a period of seven months.

The punishment in Puerto Rico for incest is 50 yearsso this is the amount of time Ricky Martin could be sentenced to if found guilty of the claim.

However, his lawyer has shut down these allegations with a strong-worded statement.

Marty Singerwho is Ricky Martin‘s lawyer, was asked about this claim by the New York Post and he responded.

“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges,” the statement started.

Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.

“The idea is not only true, it is disgusting.

“We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs.

“But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case of being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”

Local publication El Vocero has also reported on this case, stating that the restraining order was organized after Ricky Martin didn’t take a break-up well and “loitered” near the petitioner’s home at least three times.

El Vocero also reported that the restraining order prevents Ricky Martin from contacting the person who filed it.

The pop star has already denied some of the rumors about the restraining order on social media.

An attorney for Ricky Martin has denied domestic violence allegations leveled by his 21-year-old nephew.

In a statement provided to Variety on Friday, Martin’s lawyer, Marty Singer, insists that the performer has “never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”

Singer’s statement comes less than a month after the “Livin’ la Vida Loca” hitmaker refuted “completely false allegations” related to a restraining order filed against him in Puerto Rico. Spanish news outlet MARCA later reported that the Grammy winner’s brother, Eric Martin, identified the petitioner as Martin’s nephew.

Martin’s nephew has not made any public statements about the restraining order.

“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges,” Singer continued in his statement.

“The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case of being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”

Earlier this month, a Puerto Rican judge approved a restraining order prohibiting the musician and actor from contacting the person who filed it. The petitioner, who was unnamed at the time, reportedly dated Martin for seven months before filing the complaint under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law.

The order accused martin-engaged-20161116-htmlstory.html” data-ylk=”slk:the "American Crime Story" star” class=”link “the “American Crime Story” star of refusing to move on from his alleged relationship with the petitioner and repeatedly loitering near the petitioner’s home after they broke things off, according to Puerto Rican newspaper El Vocero. State attorney general threatens jail for abortion providers – American Press

  • July 5, 2022

Louisiana’s attorney general on Wednesday warned doctors against performing abortions, despite a judge’s order blocking the state from enforcing its ban on the procedure.

In a letter to the Louisiana State Medical Society, Attorney General Jeff Landry said that the state judge’s Monday order blocking enforcement “has limited reach” and abortion has been a crime since Friday’s decision giving states the power to outlaw abortions.

“It is incumbent on this office to advise you that any medical provider who would perform or has performed an elective abortion after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs is jeopardizing his or her liberty and medical license,” Landry wrote, referencing the Friday decision.

Friday’s high court decision has set off legal battles in multiple states where lawmakers have sought to ban or restrict abortion.

Kentucky’s two abortion clinics asked a judge Wednesday to issue a temporary restraining order to block a state law that took effect after Friday’s US Supreme Court ruling. Attorneys for a Louisville clinic argued that Kentucky’s constitution allows for abortion. They said one of the clinics has turned away about 200 potential patients since the Friday ruling.

Lawyers for Ohio abortion providers asked that the state’s Supreme Court on Wednesday to use its powers to overturn a ban on abortions at the first detectable “fetal heartbeat.” The American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and others argued the law violates the Ohio Constitution’s broad protections of individual liberty.

A challenge to West Virginia’s abortion ban was announced Wednesday by the ACLU of that state. The organization said it was joining others in filing the suit in Kanawha County Circuit Court on behalf of Women’s Health Center of West
